N.C. History Day is an affiliate of National History Day (NHD). NHD contests are divided into three tiers: regional, state, and national contests.  All students must participate and qualify at their assigned regional contest in order to move up to the state contest. The theme for 2020 is “Breaking Barriers in History”.  Resources for teachers can be accessed online at https://nhd.org/teacher-resources and at http://www.nhd.org/.  Printed copies of the theme booklet are available on request.
